Drawing from the natural world as a precedent for open systems thinking, Design Experiment Two explores how elements develop through constantly varying factors — without a preplanned outline. Modern technology often severs this relationship, reinforcing disconnection between humanity and ecological systems. By enabling nonlinearity and embracing natural processes, this experiment opposes those feedback loops, using design as a means of reconnecting humanity with the world around it.
Borders & Boundaries
Design Experiment Two proposes a porous border where diverse forms of life may interact and exchange. Fracturing rigid boundaries creates opportunity for richer, more enduring growth — establishing a framework where systems evolve in nonlinear ways through an open, ever-changing form. Acknowledging the unpredictability of natural systems when designing allows the built environment to adapt and remain relevant over time. This requires a revaluation of current practices, working toward an environment where all forms of life have the opportunity to flourish.
